messy side braid

so i want to wear a side braid with an outfit i’m wearing but i’m pretty bad at fancy braids. I don’t know if this looks good but it looks fine to me but idk if it’s too plain and i should have more braids leading up to the full braid yaknow. So any tips on making a better side braid??
