Contemplating femara/letrozole instead of natural iui this cycle. What are your experiences?

Maggie

So I’ve done 2 failed natural iuis this year. I’m looking to step it up. Last cycle, I think I might not have ovulated. I got 2 positive opks (digital and regular), however, my boobs always get super sore right after I ovulate, and that never happened this cycle. Also, my luteal phase has ALWAYS been 14 days, and this cycle it was 17. So I think I might have had an anovulatory cycle.

Our issue is mostly male factor, but I want my body to cooperating 100% with no doubts. In our initial consultation at the RE, she mentioned we could add femara, or letrozole, and/or a trigger shot if the natural iuis weren’t successful. But she didn’t want to try it immediately because she had some concerns for OHSS for me. So I’m going to ask if we can look into those options this cycle.

I wanna hear from people with experience with these medications. How do they work? Which one is better? Would it make sense to just do a trigger shot without the meds? Do they add a lot to the cost of the iui?
