Thought I was going to pass out at the gym!

I'm 25w3d. My belly ligaments were feeling sore so I took a week off from the gym. I had a feeling today might be a little rough, and it was. Everything felt harder; weights felt heavier, my heart was racing more than usual & my belly ligaments were complaining. I figured it was from the break or because baby shifted & feels heavier since I last worked out. I started feeling really hot & as if I was only breathing in hot air, so I went by an open window to breathe.

When I did dumbbell flys (something usually easy for me) I suddenly felt not good... and I recognized what kind of "not good" it was. It's that thing where my blood pressure will suddenly drop to 80/40 & I'll feel like I'm going to pass out. It happens a few times a year to me. It comes on quickly, first I'll feel like I'm in a sauna & can't breathe, then dread or nausea, and then I'll start seeing black clouds paired with dizziness. That's usually when I call out for my bf & I'll lay down in wherever spot I am before I fall down.

I think the hotness & breathing was my first sign but I mistook it for just being at the gym. I got the feeling of "dread" that comes right before the clouds or nausea so I knew right away, sat for a bit & then came home 😓 This seems to be the first time I was able to stop it before it goes through the whole course (one time I totally blacked out & when I woke up my bf was trying to pick me up off the floor). Now I'm laying down & still not feeling too great.

Yikes! I think you hereby have permission to take things easy - especially in summer! I did barbell back squats the other day, and though I kept the weight pretty low I still felt faint on the third set. Stopped it there and did some seated machine moves instead. It was a bit frustrating but I figure I can hit the gym properly again once the baby is out!

Not good! You need to be really careful. Instead of going to the gym maybe do YouTube prenatal workouts? Never let your heartrate go past 140 BPM or feel so out of breath you can't have a normal conversation. Get yourself a cold shower and cool down for now x

You need to take it easy and down a notch because when this happens your baby doesn't get enough oxygen!!
