You are technically supposed to stop using the infant seat at 12 months, regardless of height and weight.

Yes. My son is only 23 lbs and wss 29.25 inches at his last appointment, 12 lbs below the weight limit and 3 inches below the height limit for his seat. I'll be getting him a new one soon, probably the Graco 4ever Extend2Fit. I have a Doona now and boy, will I miss it.
