The list of stuff we really need?

I’m looking for the ultimate list of things I need for baby and me. This is our first baby. Our rainbow baby. I looked online but there seems to be so much unnecessary stuff on it. I’m looking for a British list as anything else would be hard to get hold of.

you will need breast pads, maternity pads, comfy clothes And chocolate. lots of chocolate. Baby on the other hand will need a more a basket or what ever you intend for them to sleep in, a couple of sets of bed sheets for him/her, nappies, wipes, muslin sheets, a dummy if you choose to use one, a blanket, a few different sized clothes (we made the mistake of thinking my little girl was going to be big and has to mad rush out for tiny baby stuff) bottles if your not planning on breast feeding, if you are planning on breast feeding, just in case it doesn't work out Tesco/asda where ever sell small 4oz bottles of premade milk that was it saves you having to buy a whole box of powder at £11 a tub and potentially not using it, a car seat as hospitals don't let you leave unless you have one. I'd talk to your midwife of I were you as she can give you a better idea of what your hospital will provide for both you and baby. as you don't  want to go to hospital with bags of stuff and not need half of it. Basically from my own experience I would say don't go over board with things as you will find what you do and don't use, we eneded up with so much stiff in its boxes still! Hope this helps!

Ive googled this constantly. 
It really depends on what YOU need compared to everybody else. 
The baby NEEDS immediately:
Place to sleep (crib, bassinet, etc)
Diapers (disposable or cloth)/wipes
Car seat to get home from the hospital 
Food and set up to do so (ie if breast feed do you need storage bags? Pump? Formula fed you need bottles)
Clothes 
Usually gentle detergent 
Good to have on hand:
Grooming kit
Gas meds
Thermometer
