Reproductive endocrinologist vs gynecologist

I've seen both types of doctors. My RE diagnosed me with pcos. I want to start the process of having a baby now. Can my gyno prescribe me provera and clomid. Currently taking metformin 1500mg a day. My cycle is irregular and my gyno visits are cheaper then visiting a RE
