Are canker sores considered herpes??

I get them inside my jaw every so often. Usually before I come down with a cold. Online it says they’re not sure about the cause of them but I was curious if it could be herpes? Like cold sores??

If its inside your mouth its probably an ulcer, its a cut that becomes infected because our mouths are naturally full of bacteria. Theyre very common but tend to show more in people who eat a lot of sugar, acidic food etc because that creates more bacteria. These are not contagious. If its on the outside, on your mouth, its probably a cold sore, this is a form of herpes, nothing like the one everyone knows about, but is contagious and is something that once you have you will always have and can share when it flares up. Both can become more noticable before a cold due to your immune system lowering due to fighting your cold.

No. I get them if I eat too much acidic food (tomatoes, coffee, pineapple)

I went to my primary doc for some canker type sore on my tongue. 
My doctor gave me an antibiotic and listed it as an antibiotic for oral herpes. 
I freaked out because I thought I had herpes. But I dont think I really did? 
Because otherwise he would of told me that i’m a carrier/contagious/or infected. 
I’m sure he would of made me enlist on the herpes roster. But he didn’t do any of that. 
&& I got std testing done to triple check && I came out clean. 
So honestly I dont think cankers inside the mouth are considered a type of herpes strain.
