Unexplained Fertility - Potential Thyroid Issue?

💕

I have been TTC for a year now. I’ve tracked bbt, used OPKs, tested progesterone, done an HSG, hubby did sperm analysis, and did laparoscopy/hysteroscopy/tubal dye test most recently.

Most everything was normal. I’m ovulating, sperm was good, tubes are open. They found a tiny bit of endo, an adhesión from my C section from years ago, and a small cyst on my ovary that they removed. I’m pretty healthy, and my cycles are regular. Though they are usually 25-26 day cycles with 2-3 days of bleeding.

I’m not sure if thyroid issues could be a possibility for me but I’ve heard some unexplained infertility issues are caused by this and wondering about other people’s experiences and insight on it. Thanks in advance!

Very relevant - my TSH was high and it’s why I wasn’t getting pregnant. Once we balanced that out we got pregnant.

4 months. Took an adjustment or two of medications and then it worked!

This is helpful, thank you! How long did it take for the medication to make an impact before you got pregnant? Was it a few months?

Highest when diagnosed was about 5, after one round of meds at 25mcg, it was about 2 and they upped me to 50mcgs and I got pregnant. When we tested it while pregnant it started at a .8 and did rise a bit while I’ve been going through this pregnancy (not unusual at all) so I’m up to 100mcgs to keep it under 2.

Have you had your blood test done to chexk your thyroid levels?

I am pretty sure I had at least 2 chemicals before diagnosis. I had two events where I was over 10 days late for my period (never tested though so can’t be 100% sure it was a chemical, but I’m pretty sure). Thyroid issues are absolutely a possible cause and you have to stay on top of your meds and get them to test often to make sure meds are accurate.

I had a mc at the start of the year and I'm certain it was because I went off my thyroid medication.

Not yet. I actually just called my OBGYN’s office to request an order. I was just curious what other people have experienced or if I’m way off thinking it’s relevant.
