Too much milk??

My baby is now drinking 9oz of formula every 3 hours! He's 14 weeks old and was weighed 2 weeks ago at 14lb 1oz. He's growing out of most of his 3-6 month onesies. I'm worried that he's having too much and is going to be overweight :/ the guidelines on the tin only go up to 7oz!! Anyone else's baby drinking this much and any advice if this isn't normal? Thanks
