Newly diagnosed and night shift
FTM, and NICU RN, I failed my 3 hour, failed 3 of the 4 levels.
I see a diabetic educator at MFM on Friday morning. I’m looking for tips since I work 3x 12 hour shifts a week and they aren’t consistent days. I flip to a kind of pm schedule when I’m off.
Work days: wake at 5pm eat dinner by 6pm work at 7pm. Eat lunch at work between 2-4am, get off at 7:30am and eat a light breakfast before bed.
Days off after working: wake between 5-6pm, eat small meal around 7-8, dinner at 11 (when husband gets home) back to bed around 3a.
Days off not working night before: awake by 11a eat at 12-1, snack around 3-4pm, small meal around 7-8pm, dinner with husband at 11pm, bed around 3am.
Sorry it’s so long I want to be successful for my baby, I have seen the consequences of not keeping sugars under control at work. Maybe some food suggestions to bring to work or a way I can try and change my schedule a little?
Thanks in advance.
