How long should I wait to take a test?

I’m about two weeks from my next period, but just had sex and for the first time I’m having weird brown spotting? Is this normal? I haven’t experienced this before and I’m slightly concerned.

He didn’t cum inside me so I know the chances are pretty low for me to actually be pregnant but I’m concerned about this brown spotting.
