My daughter (Lilly) is 14 and has been with her girlfriend (Jenny) for about a year and a half. Jenny's home life is incredibly unstable. Last night she called Lilly saying her mom got mad and kicked her out, this isn't the first time it's happened, but apparently the fight was much worse. She stayed with a friend last night, but the parents said she could only stay one night. Lilly asked if Jenny could stay here while she tries to work things out with her mom. I said yes as Jenny has always been respectful of my daughter, myself, and our rules. We have also put some very strict rules in place while she's here.

My fiancé says we should involve CPS as Jenny is a minor and this is considered child abandonment. I have mixed feelings on this. I hate the way her mom treats her at times, but if she is sent to a foster home (along with her 2 little brothers) things could be worse. I feel very conflicted. What would you do?
