We didn’t get to have one for my daughter because I wanted to have a “welcome home celebration” for her instead, where everyone could meet her. Then I thought about a newborn being around a bunch of people and, well, that was an obviously horrible decision so I decided not to go through with that. It bums me out to think about though because I feel like we didn’t “properly” celebrate my daughter before or after birth. She never even got an actual first birthday or anything either. Would it be weird to have a shower for this baby, regardless of gender & not focusing on gifts whatsoever, just to celebrate the baby? I just don’t want it to come across as being greedy and people thinking we are wanting gifts when that’s not the case. ☹️
