Rock n play advice?

My 2 week old will NOT sleep in his bassinet. He has been co sleeping with me for about a week now because the minute I put him in his bassinet he cries but as soon as he’s in my arms he passes out for 3-4 hours at a time. My sister let me borrow her rock n play and I’m going to try it tonight to see how it goes. I was 100% against him sleeping anywhere but his bassinet, but my exhaustion is making me desperate and I feel like he would be safer in the rock n play than in bed with me? Anyone have any thoughts or experiences with sleeping in a rock n play?

I agree.. bassinet is definitely safest, but I think that the rock n play is safer than sleeping in bed with you.

I used a rock n ply with my first. He had acid reflux and needed to be angled a little bit it worked great and he began sleeping through the night as soon as we started using it at about a month old! 
My daughter is 4 weeks old today she has always slept in her crib from day 1 but the last 3 nights have been rough and she just wants held to sleep. She will sleep for hours if I hold her but the minute I lay her down she’s screaming bloody murder... I got out the rock n play so if tonight it rough I can try it as well. I need some sleep

My baby is 6 weeks now and we were also cosleeping for a while because she’d wake up too frequently in the bassinet. We just started putting her in the crib and she sleeps 4.5-5 hours now. We also use the swing when she won’t sleep and she sleeps better in there as well. I would let your baby sleep part of the night in the rock n play if that’s what works. Your baby will wake up to eat anyway and then either cosleep after that feed or try the bassinet again but at least you’ll get some sleep.

My 4 week old has taken some naps in the rock n play, but I don't let her sleep in it at night...  I have the same issue though, she falls asleep and sleeps like a rock as long as I hold her but once I move her to her crib, she wakes up and gives me the evil eye! What's worked for the last few days has been transitioning her very very slowly. Instead of just laying her down in her crib, I'll stand infront of it holding her for a few minutes, then slowly lean in, then I make contact with the mattress while still holding her, then very slowly remove my arm that's holding her body while still cradling her head with my other hand. If she starts stirring or opens her eyes, I'll hold her head a little while longer and rub her head until she's calm. I know, seems like a major pain in the ass, but it works and I hope to reduce the effort and time it takes a little each time.

My first slept in her rock and play exclusively for the first 8 weeks or so before transitioning to her crib. She loved it!

Rock and play was a must-have with my first. He slept mostly in his for almost five months. When we transitioned him to his crib, we put a pillow under his mattress so he could continue to sleep at an incline. He didn’t have reflux, he was just a noisy and restless sleeper on a flat surface.
