Placenta Previa - 17 weeks

Hi ladies,

I had brown spotting last night and immediately called my Dr who told me to go to the ER. Once there, they ran blood, gave me a pelvic exam and an ultrasound.

The baby is fine and my cervix is closed, but the ultrasound did show that I have placenta previa. This is my first pregnancy and I’m 26 years old, no other health issues.

I’m really nervous and worried. The PA in the ER didn’t have much experience in this, but she did call my OBGYN who said it could shift on its own and she’s going to see me Monday for a follow up.

I am freaking out. Everything I read scares me and now I’m paranoid about every single ache and pain worrying that it’s related.

Has anyone had experience with this? I want to hear other people’s stories about it and what worked for them. They have me on pelvic and bed rest.
