Early ovulation? Help!

Question

My periods are usually 26-28 days with 2 months ago having a 30 day cycle. This is our first month ttc. I’m on day 8 of cycle and started OPK test yesterday. Yesterday line was faint but dark but no question not as close to control line. Today’s OPK test was darker, close to control line. I feel it’s early on in cycle to be close to ovulation? Am I close to ovulation by last OPK? I plan on re testing in few hours.

Positive usually comes when you’re going to ovulate 12-36 hours. With a 28 day cycle ovulation usually occurs between CD10 and CD15, so the fact that the line is getting darker as you approach CD10 isn’t too early at all! Just remember it doesn’t actually mean anything until it’s as dark or darker than the control line
