I was diagnosed with GD about 6 weeks ago and have been diet controlled ever since. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow and it’s an hour away. I’m wondering what is going to happen at the appointment? I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I don’t fit well behind the wheel anymore. Im nervous about driving there and back. I don’t know what to expect at this appointment so I’m wondering if it’s truly imperative to go? Could they just order labs? I email my doctor weekly with my blood glucose log and everything is fine. I wish there was a closer facility but that’s the only doctor in the network that sees patients for gestational diabetes.

The last thing I want is to be non compliant, but unfortunately I don’t have anyone else to bring me tomorrow and I don’t even know what will happen and if it’s necessary.

Do you ladies know what to expect? If I could possibly just get labs ordered so I can do it locally?
