Nexplanon STUCK

Shawna

I got the Nexplanon inserted in my arm 09/25/2014. I got it surgically removed TODAY (06/04/18).

Here’s my journey...

When I first got the Nexplanon my period lasted about 3 weeks each month for about 3 months. Then they became regular again. I had a period each month about 7 days long each time. At this point, I loved the Nexplanon. It was very effective and easy to use, I had to do nothing. My boyfriend and I don’t use condoms and he doesn’t pull out and I never got pregnant! Even after the Nexplanon expired I still did not get pregnant.

After the 3 years were up I went to have it removed... this is where the problems began. It was too deep. The doctor dug in there for about 40 minutes trying to get it. We had no luck. She sent me to get an X-Ray. It was in fact there! She referred me to a surgeon but before I did that I went to see another doctor. She dug around for about 30 minutes and got nothing. At this point surgically removing it seem much easier!

Today, June 4, 2018. I got my Nexplanon surgically removed. They put me to sleep and removed it!

Just wanted to share my experience.
