12 week appt???

Question

I have my 12 week appt tomorrow.. what happens at this one?? 
I had my first ultrasound at 8 weeks and I know they don’t do another one until 16 weeks for gender and another at 20 for anatomy. 
So do I get to hear baby’s heartbeat at 12 weeks maybe?? Or is it too early for them to find it on Doppler?? 
I just want to make sure baby’s Ok! 
What do y’all think?!?

UPDATE! Just had my 12 wk appointment and it was pretty quick.  They did a ton of labs - including CBC, blood typing, and HIV testing. Also urine test idk for what. And we also got to listen to the heartbeat for the first time!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I just still can’t believe it!!! 🤗🤗

Hello! Just had my 12 week today. Went right into ultrasound and they started with transvaginal then abdominal ultrasound when they couldn’t the right angles. They are looking for the nasal bone and space behind the neck (or something) -nuchal testing- and then they did one vial of blood work that goes with it, all testing for chromosomal abnormalities. I heard the heartbeat this time and at my 7 week appointment - the first was only t/v though that we heard it. I have another scheduled in 4 weeks.  Good luck and keep us posted 💗

At every appointment if there is no ultrasound the doctor will let you hear the heartbeat. The first thing they do when you come in is find the heartbeat and tell you the measurement.

My doctor let us listen to the heartbeat with the Doppler and then from there it was just a regular appointment. We do our anatomy scan at 14-20 weeks.

My 12 week appointment is on June 20th and I’ll have an ultrasound. The heart rate was 179 at my 8w5d ultrasound and we could see it beating, but couldn’t hear it. My doctor let me know that we will for sure be able to hear it at my 12 week. I won’t have another ultrasound after this one until closer to 20 weeks...it’s crazy how different each doctor is!

The doctors dont always let you hear the heartbeat until like 16 weeks. which is why most of us have already got an at home doppler cause we are impatient lol you'll get to see baby move around and see heartbeat, just maybe not hear it.

i had a transvaginal US at 8 weeks and a Doppler at 9 weeks. the baby showed up nice and clear at 9 weeks and the heartbeat was able to be heard. the doctor said my size has a lot to do with how well the baby shows up. I am very tiny so it might depend on your size as to how early you can see and hear things clearly. I have my 12 week appointment next week. good luck to you!

Well my 12 weeks appt was the discovery that we are having twins sooo... I guess you could expect that ;)
More seriously I noticed it seems to depend on the country and state you live, and perhaps on the hospital/Dr. I had no US before 12 weeks.
For my first pregnancy I had a doppler at 11 weeks where we heard the heartbeat of our son for the first time. 
I kind of remember that my doctor did an exam for my first pregnancy around 12weeks, but still nothing for this one...
