Short Cervix at 19 weeks

Hi ladies, was hoping some of you could give me some personal stories if you have any. I went to see my OB today for a bit of vaginal pain and when he did an ultrasound found my cervix to be a bit on the short side, 2.4cm. I was sent to the high risk docs where I was given another ultrasound and they agreed with his findings and recommend a cerclage which I’m having put in two days. I’m almost 19 weeks pregnant. Has anyone experienced this? Has it been successful? I’m not dilating, no spotting and no contractions. I’d really appreciate any stories/advice.
