Baby Tyler 😍😍
So I came in to the hospital at 7:40a for my induction this morning and immediately had to be put on an iv for fluids then iv antibiotics (ground b strep positive). Shortly after they started pitocin and everything was smooth sailing, baby was doing great on monitors and all was well. Well I got to the point that I felt I needed the epidural and I was in quite a bit of pain so they decided they’d get me ready and they said it’ll be about an hour, they were there in about 30 minutes to hook it up. Well they went ahead and did that and my doctor came in to make sure all was well and decided that since baby was difficult on monitors that they would break my water and put one on his head. No problem with me. About an hour later my epidural had started to wear off and I was getting very uncomfortable and I thought I needed something done. I was feeling super nauseous from the contractions and pain. They came back up about 35 minutes later and got me good and numb and told me I’m only at 6cm. Not even 2 hours later I decided to page my nurse because I felt pressure but not the need to push, and she checked and said, Oh goodness let me get some stuff set up you’re 9cm!! I’m laying there numb as it gets just joking around with my mom and husband about how good I felt and they come back to put my legs up in stirrups and they said, okay that’s enough laughing you’re crowning!! My doctor walked in the door long enough to catch baby. I literally laughed him out and it was the best experience. I was up and walking about an hour and a half later. This was the best birth experience I could have asked for and I’m so grateful to have my baby boy here and healthy! He is doing a lot of skin to skin and nursing very well!
