A little over due but here’s my story
At around 25 weeks of my pregnancy I started with constant Braxton hicks, I didn’t exactly have the easiest pregnancy: hg, low placenta, spotting and High risk due to pcos. Fast forward it’s New Year’s Eve and i had some fluid leaking since the night before, i eventually get talked into calling l&d; and i explain to them I’m leaking but it’s not a lot and doesn’t smell like pee but it was close enough to my due date so they say come in get looked at I’m having inconsistent but active contractions they check me I’m dilating but only 1cm the leaking turns out to be just normal discharge no biggie
1/10/18 I go to the doctor, i had gained 5lbs in one week, the leaking is still happening I tell her she’s like it’s just discharge cause where the baby is and the weight gain is probably just extra water she checks me to see if I’m dilating more still 1cm tries to see if she can find the other half of my mucous plug can’t so I go about my day getting more and more contractions but nothing consistent still leaking I think nothing of it
3am The next morning I wake up bad pains think I have to pee some mild contractions which i put off as more Braxton hicks and nothing serious but then I realize I don’t think I felt my baby move all night so I’m poking walking rolling side to side cold water cold juice lunges nothing I finally wake Hubby up like 430 tell him I’m calling the hospital and he needs to get up wake up. my parents had come out for the birth so i wake them up I like literally threw the dogs at them and was like well call you if anything
So I come in, but I honestly half thought I was being dramatic and but the other half was in full panic, they rush me hook up the ultrasound I had lost all the fluid in the whole bottom of my uterus and now I’m 4cm and the doctors like you didn’t feel any of that fluid come out I go yea but you’ve been telling me since New Years it’s normal discharge, turns out it was not normal discharge obviously and they’re like ummm you’re getting admitted right now get your shit together we need to start inducing you, so they start the first round of pitocin I’m on it for idk maybe an hour I like don’t even remember what happened I got a contraction and woke up to an oxygen mask surrounded by people my babies heart had dropped and went in fetal distress, they get the heart rate back up he’s hysterical my mom forget it what a mess so they take me off it check again still 4cm they’re like we can wait a couple hours and try the pitocin again or try to manually pop your water and Idk why I started having a panic attack about my water breaking so we leave it go back on the pitocin a couple hours later they gave me a little pain killer in the iv cause they’re like you need to sleep so you can get this baby out, Mind you this like 10 at night, so around 2 in the morning I’m getting like for real contractions and I’m like yelling my husband cause I’m like get me to the toilet I’m gonna start shitting everywhere and get the nurse I need the epidural I’m about to go to into labor so they come in I’m like get me the drugs it’s gonna start soon so the nurse goes to get the guy my water breaks she comes back I’m like my water just broke and she’s like oh it’s probably nothing you might’ve peed and I’m like no my fucking water just broke, finally get the epidural going they leave me for five minutes maybe come back I’m like I need to start pushing the nurse was like no way and I’m like this baby is starting to come out and she’s like ok but there’s not a doctor available right now so you need to hold it I’m like nah this baby is coming out lady I’m pushing with or without the doctor so I start pushing without the doctor they come in my husband calls my parents by the time they get here I’m pushing her out they heard me screaming down the hall and I’m trying to tell the doctor like something not right is happening My husband legit told me to calm down(idiot) I finally get my baby out after 45 min of pushing, baby is fine but the placenta had calcified so it’s stuck inside me they can’t get it out, finally getting it out it tears my uterus I started hemorrhaging they couldn’t get the bleeding to stop they start preparing the or room but thank god they finally got me to stop bleeding but left the epidural in just in case I start bleeding again but I didn’t.
My husband and i didn’t find out what we were having he announced it to me when she came out, after all those months of sickness and scares and exams and after 24 hours of hell, the majority of it without drugs, at 3:39 am 1/12/18 I welcomed my beautiful baby girl, who of course looks exactly like her father
