don't think I'm making enough, how to supplement?

I only pump an ounce and a half combined and my baby is a month old. she's usually fussy and I'm thinking it may be bc she's not getting enough milk. In the afternoon my breasts feel empty and it's hard for me to get drops out by hand. if I start supplementing with formula, when do I give it?

The pump is much less effective if getting milk out, if diapers are getting dirty often and weight gain isn’t an issue, you are probably getting exactly what you need. If you are needing to have more milk stored for daycare and such, try adding a pump session, upping water intake, and massaging your breasts while pumping. All should help. Won’t be absolutely immediate results, but will help immensely. BFing moms should match their weight in ounces of water/day.

I’d talk to the pedi to see if there’s any reason to believe you’re really not making enough. Many women mistakenly think they’re not making enough, then start supplementing with formula which makes you make even less milk.  Keep in mind that the pump is much less efficient than a baby when it comes to getting milk out.

You can start supplementing any time. If you supplement, be ready for your supply to drop FAST.
If you want to continue to BF, aim to drink 2 gallons of water a day and eat a HIGH fat diet, look up Keto fat bombs. Eat as much as you can. 
Let your baby nurse as much as possible. It’s called cluster feeding and it also increases your supply.
