I don't know where else to post this, please help??

Okay has anyone ever gifted a puppy?? My husband and I want to get a puppy soon... well his birthday is on Halloween and my MIL is throwing him a surprise party... I figured that would be the perfect time to surprise him with a puppy as a birthday gift. But I have no clue how to do it, do I leave the puppy with a family member for a couple days and then have them bring it with them to the party?? It's not like I can hide the puppy in our apartment 😂
