Any advice to those who married at a young age?

I'm 19 and he is 21. We want to be married however my family is dead against. They loved him intill we talked about it and now it's a mess. How did you convince your parents and how did you pay for schooling if you did???

Well I told my mom were doing it with or without her there but I would prefer she was there. My mom went and was so happy! His mom didn't go and she regrets it now.

As for school... He's going first to finish his degree. Works full time.

I work full time but make double what he makes. Together we are paying for his tuition and then I'm going to finish the one class I need to get a degree once he finds a job. ☺️
So far so good. A lot of love and support from eachother has gotten us through it all.

When we got engaged my husband and I had the "talk." We are eachother a family. My mom is still my mom and I love her... But he is my husband and I am his wife.

I got married at 18, he was 19. 
We are now 21 & 22.
Our family's were very supportive, BUT we were also self sufficient at a young age. We bought our first home within 6 months. If you can support yourselves & you believe it's right, go for it. At 18+ you don't need permission to do it. Make sure it's right because marriage is hard work! I love my hubby more than anything, but every marriage has difficult times!

My husband and I just eloped. Told our parents about it after the fact. I was 21 and he was 20. They couldn't do anything about it, but my dad just recently told us that he's glad we got married, so parents tend to come around eventually.

As far as school goes,  I was in college before we met and I'm finishing up my junior year this year. We plan  on applying for financial aid for my husband for hopefully next spring.

A word of advice though,  getting married while in school still is extremely difficult because you have to balance time with your husband with school and life. I work full time, am a full time student,  and am doing an Internship for my degree,  so spending time with my husband gets difficult. I don't regret getting married when I did,  but just know, it is tough.

My parents were totally for it, my grandparents even paid for the whole thing! 
His mom however showed up drunk and made him feel like shit. 
As for school, FAFSA.gov is for student aid, you'll likely get more money since you're independent from your parents.

Thank you for posting this! I have a very similar problem. I am 20 and he is 19 and we have been engaged for about 6 months now. My parents made my life absolutely miserable for the first couple of months after the engagement and even made a scene when my fiancé told them he was going to ask me.
I'm still trying to figure out how to deal with it because they now resent him for taking me away from them. They have no clue that they pushed me away.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of parental support and the ungodly price of college, we are probably going to be waiting just under two more years to get married so that I can have my degree and work full time. He will then finish up the last year of his degree.

Talk to them about their worries. If you have plans and a good head on your shoulders, and talk to and assure your parents... They'll come around. If not, seriously look at your life and your relationship, because they love you and could be right about you not being ready. My husband and I got married at 20 and 22

My husband and I will be married for two years this November. I was 22 and he was 19. I thought that my mom was gonna take it harder than his mom, but it was the other way around. His mom attended our wedding and was just completely silent the whole time. My mom was shocked because I'm her only child, but she was able to celebrate with us. Sometimes you have to state how you feel and not come off disrespectful to them and they have to respect your decision. Take their advice but still find your way through life. Marriage is hard work but it's one of the best decisions I've ever made!
