How do I get her to stop?

Since we found out we were pregnant my MIL puts her face right at the bottom of my stomach talks, kisses and rubs my belly.  It doesn't matter if I'm standing or sitting.  I understand she is excited about her new grandbaby but it's really awkward and uncomfortable when her face is almost in my crotch!  How do I get her to stop with out hurting her feelings?   I'm 17w 5d. And she has been doing this since we were 3 weeks and I have just been dealing with it but not sure how much longer I can do that...

Next time she does it fart.... Haha jk, just let her know that you need your space. Perhaps tell her that she can put her hand there instead of her face... Or just tell a story about how someone obnoxiously was touching ur belly and taking to your stomach and how uncomfortable it was.  She will get the hint

Ugh, I am SO sorry. I have been dealing a similar situation and I haven't quite figure it out, either. I'm a very straightforward and honest person, and I love my MIL dearly, but her feelings get hurt SO easily that I feel as though I can't say anything.

She always rubs my belly and sits next to me with her hand on it (this is something I'm only really comfortable with my husband doing). Also, when my son was born and I was breastfeeding him she used to come up and kiss him on the head... Which was just a HUGE "no!" for me. This I started avoiding by unlatching him every time I saw her headed in our direction, even if this exposed me or sprayed us down with milk and he started screeching. It didn't take her too long to stop doing that.

If your MIL can handle straightforward talk, maybe just tell her that your belly feels really uncomfortable when touched. Say it in an apologetic way, let her know that you will invite her to touch you when the baby is kicking. I don't know, I wish I had better advice on this one. Good luck!

Make sure your SO is aware that you don't like it. Maybe considering it is his mom, he can tell her to stop. Might be less awkward and harsh from him

Well I tried this weekend at our gender reveal party and told her how awkward it was and basically I was told to get over it....  ughh

I'd walk away, and if she tries stopping you, call your so, and if he's not around, push her out of the way. If she can't respect your request, no need to respect her as an adult.

My sister carried around a spray bottle with water in it.  She was very vocal about not having her belly touched without permission and when people ignored her she would spray them

I'd just tell her. Tell her it makes you very uncomfortable. It's your belly. She can hold the baby when he/she arrives. If she continues, tell your so to make her stop!! I'd be furious and worst case if stop going around her. Set boundaries now or it will be so much harder when baby comes!!

Next time she does it maybe gently lift her hand ofd, if she asks just say, it's a bit awkward for me.
