Wedding band on the outside?

Hi all! I love seeing people's rings and sets, I love how different everyone's tastes are and seeing what people's rings mean to them and the stories behind them. I've noticed in some pictures ladies have their wedding band on the outside of their engagement ring, I always thought when married it goes inside. Is this a regional difference? Just preference? I'm curious

Traditionally, the wedding band is supposed to go on the inside, because it's supposed to be closest to your heart.

Mine is on the inside. I wore my engagement ring on my right hand the day of the wedding and after walking down the aisle I put it over the wedding ring. I only took it off to be sized and fused!
