Ovulation symptoms while on birth control?

Question

So obviously I know birth control pills stop you from ovulating but you can still get ovulation symptoms. My question is why? Like you’d think if your body isn’t ovulating, you wouldn’t get symptoms like you are right? Has there ever been any research on this? Or does anybody have any guesses?

i have had ovulation symptoms while on the pill. i don’t anymore with this current pill but my other ones, for sure. id get ovulation cramps and i can actually feel my ovaries sometimes also. i also have ovulation discharge to this day, but i am not ovulating! pill works great

I've read about this. Some doctors said that even though you are not ovulating or PMSn', your mind knows and your body is used to feeling this way on a certain period of time during the month. There's no real explanation. I guess is the power of the mind. haha.
