Drinking from regular cup?

Anyone remember how old their LO was when they switched to regular cups? I have an 18 month old that can do it but still dumps some. Since we have very slippery and very hard floors we have stuck with sippys.

My daughter is 23 months and has been drinking from real cups for a few months but only just became proficient at it. Although she sneaks her cup out to her kitchen sometimes and dumps the water in the play sink. 😂

I switched to Tommie Tippies when my 2 yr olds were 2 & 2½. They got the hang of those and then I gave them cups because the TT drove me crazy.....they make a horrible noise lol 
I just watch them and make sure they put their cup away from the edge. I started with just the tiniest bit of water/milk and went up from there.
