Trigger warning -eating disorders

If you know someone who has an eating disorder or suspect they have one: don’t make them feel bad or stupid. Don’t try to push them into getting help. Be kind to them and show compassion and show that you care and worry about said person and talk to them about getting help. You can’t force someone to get help but you can make it clear that you are there for them and will try your best to help.

It helps nothing to act condescending towards those like me who deal with an eating disorder. We know how bad it is, we know we are hurting ourselves. It doesn’t make us stupid, it makes us mentally ill.

Emphasis on Ill. We are sick.

Not stupid.
