When is the best time to have a baby shower?

I'm going back to my home state for my baby shower and I need to plan it out thoroughly. 
How far long do you all recommend I be when the baby shower takes place? 
Due Dec 15th.

when I was due Dec 2 with my daughter i had it in late Sep so I still had time to buy stuff i didnt get or needed

I dont think it matters...just whenever you want it! I'm 17 weeks, finding out the gender soon at 20 weeks. We will have a babyshower almost as soon as we find out the gender.

We’re doing one with my family (in Kansas) at 26 weeks, and one with my husband’s family (in Ohio) at 27 weeks. Then we’ll do one with our local friends (in New York) at around 30 weeks. I want to get them done so we can start getting everything set up for the little guy!

I did mine at 30 weeks and it was a lot of planning and work (big family party). I’m really glad I didn’t wait longer because I’m just starting to slow down and feel tired and now I can just relax 😎
