Hives from cephalexin?

I started taking it Thursday night due to a belly piercing infection and ever since then my legs have been itching a lot and I’m pretty sure it’s due to the antibiotics. I have taken this medication before and I have had a little itching but not as much as this. I have to go back to the doctor for a follow up in a few days should I let him know about the itching? I have a penicillin allergy so idk if it’s related to that medicine.

Cephalexin (Keflex) which is part of the cephalosporin antibiotic group. Cephalosporins and Penicillins are practically the same and usually doctors don’t prescribe them to people with penicillin allergies.

i took cephalexin for acne problems and within a short time of using it, my face and jaw line would become very itchy and swollen so i eventually discontinued using it.

Stop the medicine and call your doctor. If you are having any kind of rash after taking a medicine, it is either an adverse reaction or an allergy. Either one is not good.
