BV Sex?

So, my boyfriend accidentally gave me a BV infection and we haven't been able to have vaginal sex in a while. I've gotten meds to clear my infection up, but I was wondering if my boyfriend and I would be safe to have vaginal sex while I still have the infection? He'll wear a condom, of course, but will it be possible for me to give him something as well? I've read that men can't get anything like BV, but I want to be on the safe side and ask before we do anything. I've really been itching for him and it's killing me that we can't fool around hardly. So, if anybody could help me and answer my question, that would be really appreciated
