Question

Is any one out there expecting and are not close with their family so they aren't having a baby shower?

I just moved so I don't have friends here and my husband and I aren't very close with our families so basically everything for baby is coming from our pockets. Is anyone else in this boat? It's more emotional rather than just receiving gifts. It's getting very overwhelming and I just wanted to see how others are handling it.

We live far from our families too (I'm in the military). But they will probably try to throw us showers although it will be difficult. I'm not expecting much in the way of gifts, so I'll just buy everything myself. I have to say, it's pretty difficult and lonely being without family or friends but I'm kind of used to it by now. Just try to text and talk on the phone to your friends and get a support system, even if it's distant. And even if someone you don't know that we'll offers to throw you a shower, accept!

I'm not having a baby shower and tbh I don't even want to tell my family. We told his family but I don't want anyone from my side to know. I have three boys and they were negative about each and every one of them! They are so negative and I want this to be a peaceful pregnancy. It's hard having a small or not even having a support system especially while pregnant but once the baby is here none of that will matter.
