Thoughts on study drugs?

I have difficulty focusing on things and I am easily distracted. I really want to get better grades in grade 12.
In Canada do walk in clinics prescribe it?

Answer

No. They are controlled stimulants / drugs and require documentation and evidence to support executive functioning impairment.

You will need to get a full evaluation for ADHD which can take up to a full day of testing by an accredited educational psychologist. Some physicians can also evaluate add but it is better to go to someone that specializes in academic underachievement to get an accurate diagnosis, management tools and help. The adhd drugs alone won't help you without other behavioral tools.

This is not an easy process or a quick fix for final exams. But if you suspect you have attention problems it is worth it to go through the process and get help. It doesn't mean you are any less capable or smart.

You will have had to experience symptoms from prior age 12 and affecting multiple areas of your life, not just school.
