Crib vs pack n play

BeautyMommy • I love my family

I lost my job (worst timing ever!!) and therefore am struggling financially. I don't have a lot of family support and won't be having a shower either. So basically I'm on my own with this baby. I didn't get much use out of my daughters crib until she was older and am thinking this time to save money, just using a pack n play instead of buying both.

I may look for a crib from a second hand shop but that will be last after I make sure everything else is bought and paid for.

I saw a few mattresses online for playyards(nothing that will fit the one I bought yet) and am thinking of getting one to stick in the bottom so I can use it for sleeping instead of a crib. I dont see a big difference and am thinking it doesn't really matter as long as baby has something to sleep in.

Thoughts on this?

I would do it. My daughter hasn't used her crib like at all. She's been in our bed lol. We are getting her a toddler bed and plan to use her crib for this new baby

My daughter had a beautiful crib.... That she hated. She slept in it MAYBE an hour total. She slept in her pack n play until she was about 20 months. The baby won't know the difference and you shouldn't stress yourself financially as long as the baby has a safe place to sleep! Good luck Hun

My son almost never used his crib. He  slept in his pack n play. I liked it because I could move it around the house, too.

My son never slept in his crib. We only used the pack and play. This time around, I'm not even looking at cribs. Plus our pack and play had the bassinet and changing table attachment. Makes it so easy and compact.

You know unless you quit you can't "lose" a job while pregnant. I would call a lawyer. You could easily sue. And then you would have no problem paying for a crib 😃

so prove you lost it BECAUSE you were pregnant. shouldn't be that hard

You can't loose a job BECAUSE you're pregnant. You CAN loose a job WHILE you're pregnant.

I didn't get a crib till my son was 3 months. Even then he didn't use it right away. He slept in his pack and play in my room and I started putting him in the crib at night when he was about 5 months.

I used the packnplay for my son until he was almost 5 months old. it was easier and he could always be in the same room as me while he was sleeping. that's what I'm going to do again...I didn't put a mattress in it I used the mat that came with it, we also had one with the bassinet attachment thing for when he was a.newborn. it worked awesome.
