My boyfriend and I broke up and later got back together. He slept with a couple girls during the time we were apart and in no way would I ever consider that cheating. As far as I'm concerned, we werent together and he had no commitment to me. Now we didn't have the intention of possibly getting back together, if we'd been on a break then we'd have made the agreement to not have any kind of interactions with people that could be considered cheating, so if that was the case it'd be cheating. But we dont believe in breaks so that would never have been an issue for us. If you're broken up then it's not cheating, if it's a break it depends on what the two of you have agreed on for the break.

I don’t believe in “breaks” or getting back together with an ex after apart for a while. All signs point to that’s not the person for you especially if either had been ok with hooking up with someone else during that time just shows the break up didn’t really affect you that much.

If the relationship hasn’t officially ended but was on a “break” - so that both of you could take time to yourselves and clear your head - and you went on a break with the idea of coming back together eventually, then yes I’d consider it cheating. 
It’s not cheating if you ended things for good and weren’t going to come back together.

I can’t answer this poll. You’re asking two different questions with two different answers. If ya’ll broke up then no it’s not cheating. However, if you all were on a break, which implies you will eventually come back together, then yes, it is cheating. I don’t get/do breaks. Be here or be gone.

I love Friends! Because of this problem in Ross and Rachel’s relationship I told my boyfriend if we ever for some reason took a break that it does not mean that we can sleep with other people.
