goodbye bottles?

when are we supposed to ditch the bottles? he gets a sippy cup with water during meals, but are we supposed to be completely done with bottles and formula by 1 year old?

We tried sippy cups many times and she rejects them. Just started having to put her daily oatmeal in her formula because she refuses her required solids. 🤯 I can’t imagine her being on a no formula/no bottle diet in 2 months time... she is highly highly attached to her bottle. 
We will definitely have some brain storming to do at her next Dr. appointment... she loves being a baby and playing up the baby act... 🍼 👶🏼

I try to do 3 meals and 2 snacks during the day. i know that's a lot, but it's a hassle to get my son to finish a bottle. he will only drink a full one before bed and snacks all day. our pedi told us we could start introducing whole milk at 11 months, along with the formula or breastmilk to help transition. I'm hoping to be done with bottles at 1 cause I'm tired of cleaning them!!

Around one. my mom had both me and my sister off before/right at a year and I am doing the same with my daughter.

I think there’s a lot of different recommendations out there. I know that at my son’s last pediatrician appointment our doctor said that he would still be on formula after a year while transitioning to milk. What we put that in is up to us, I’m assuming. I think we just have to do what works best for us!

We've moved to straw cups since I believe I've read the straw is better for their oral development than a sippy or bottle. As far as formula, I have no idea. It seems arbitrary to say that when they're 364 days they need it but not when they're 365 days old. I feel the same way about honey 😂 but I'm basically following the recommendation anyway and trying to breastfeed up to a year (or formula if you are not breastfeeding).

there are alot of different philosophies on that. some say transition before 1 so at 1 they are done. some say transition after they turn 1. at the end of the day do what feels best for you and your baby. no need to force it just because of an age
