My friends girlfriend had an abortion and he didn’t support the decision. I just don’t know what to say to him to comfort him. He says he’s really hurt by her decision. Ultimately, I know it was his girlfriends decision, but what should I say to comfort him?

Just tell him that it's okay to cry. It's okay to be sad and if he wants to call you and just cry over the phone that it is okay. There really isnt much else you can tell him. Right now he probably feels betrayed by his gf and I dont blame him. I find it interesting that we always hear about the woman's decision on an abortion but we usually never hear about how it affects the father. Dont get me wrong, I'm all for a woman having the right to do with her body as she pleases but that doesnt take away the pain a man might feel. I feel so sad for him. Despite the reasons, she took away a part of him he will never get back
