Is 96.8 normal temp for baby?

My son had a fever last night and wasn't feeling very well, I gave him Motrin and that seemed to work but today he's been looking a little off, he looks too calm (not running around like he usually does) I checked his tempt and it was 96.8 checked again 30 mins later and dropped to 96.5 is this normal? Should I take him to the ER?

I heard they can suffer from hypothermia if temperature is too low.

Normal temp is 97.5, slight fever is 100.4 which can be treated at home, call doctor (if it doesnt go down after meds) when fever is at 101 for babies 3-6 months, and 103 at 6+ months.
