What formulas are ‘closest’ to breast milk?

What formula is the closest to breast milk? My baby has been breastfeeding for two weeks now but seems to be losing weight. I’m worried so I was going to supplement with formula just in case. 😟

Unless you know he is loosing weight or you doc says you have too, don’t supplement.

Do you know your baby is in fact losing weight (you said “seems to be”)? Have you seen a lactation consultant. At two weeks your body is still regulating your milk, so cluster feeding is normal. Obviously if you want to supplement, then by all means, but you may not in fact need to....

Some brands make supplemental formula specifically for breastfeeding mothers.

It really depends on which your LO prefers. Mine has aptimal and Aldi own brand which is made by aptimal. All brands are tightly regulated and are pretty much all the same.

You should try to pump your milk to supplement instead of formula. I give my one week old baby this, twice a day and sometimes 3 times a day. It helped although he wasnt underweight
