Can I dye my hair while pregnant?

Ok ladies. It's my first time pregnant and my mother has always told me that pregnant women should not dye their hair because can affect the baby. How true is that? Have y'all done it? Thank you for your help.

I think they now say that it's ok after the first trimester. I'd still look for a less toxic dye and definitely make sure you're in a very well ventilation area when you do it.

Yes, but you should wait until the second trimester. The reason why it isn't recommended isn't because it hurts the baby, it's because during the first trimester, your hormones are all kinds of crazy and it could have a negative effect on your hair color, you could loose your hair and so on. Once the second trimester starts your hormones are more stabilized.
