Acne while TTC

Since getting off birth control so we can TTC, my acne has gotten really bad. I had bad acne as a teenager and was on medication for it, but after I started BC I didn't need the other med anymore. Topical ointments don't do me much good, I need something to prevent it from happening! So, is it dumb to make an appt with my OB GYN for pregnancy safe acne medicine? Anybody have any tips?
