HSG and Clomid?

Hey everyone! I posted this in another group as well, but i just wanted to post an update and see if anyone has been through the same thing! 
Yesterday, I went in for my yearly gyno visit. It's officially been a year of TTC with absolutely nothing.  😩 I sat and discussed with my Dr about our options moving forward. She wants me to do an HSG around CD10 and start clomid on CD3 of this next cycle. The fun thing is that my next cycle should possibly start Saturday, unless our last month trying naturally worked! 🤞🤞🤞 
Does anyone have any experience with these things working? I'm open to hear opinions and advice, as I have no one in my family that has had infertility.  Thank you in advance! 
A little background on me.
I have PCOS  and after losing some weight a year ago, I started having normal periods for the first time in my life! Over the past year, I've been taking OPKs to pinpoint ovulation. Every month, I do get a positive stick. My hubby had low testosterone, but after some treatment with Clomid, his semen analysis has gone up and he has normal levels now.

Hanna, just wanted to share my story and give some advice. My husband I have been trying for a baby since February of 2017 and just recently went to a fertility clinic. Prior to that I had cycle day 3 testing, an ultrasound, lab work, an HSG, my husband had a sperm analysis and I had done one month of clomid. I will say that I think seeing the specialist is one of the best decisions we could’ve made. From my hsg they said one of my tubes were blocked, but the specialist said that while that can happen from my history she thinks it’s more likely that I was just cramping during the HSG. My ob/gyn told my husband that his sperm analysis results were normal, but the RE had some concerns. So I have PCOS and don’t ovulate on my own and my husband has lower motility.. we’ve decided to do femara (as I’ve done research and talked with doctors who say women with pcos often respond better to it than to clomid and it has less side effects), a trigger shot, and IUI. These things have worked for us! We got pregnant in January after we used Clomid + Ovidrel and IUI (our only option as we have to use donor sperm). It was our first attempt too but sadly we lost the baby at 12 weeks. First time I ever saw a BFP in years of trying though so at least now I know it can happen! 😁 
However my husband and I seem to be surrounded by family and friends that just think about the idea of being pregnant and then BAM... baby on the way! So we’re with you there... all of this infertility stuff was so new to us and the people close to us that it’s hard not to feel alone sometimes in the midst of everything. But just know that there is a whole lot of people that have already dealt with everything you have and there is lots of support whenever you need it. Yes hsg is important to identify if there are any abnormalities with your Fallopian tubes (I’d blockage/scarring or sludge) and if there is sludge it will clear it out instantly, or you uterus such as fibroids. 
The clomid is a usual first step for people with female factor infertility. Even before you start that I would highly advise that your partner has a semen analysis done as well. Very simple and valuable first step. If very low count or motility you may want to skip the clomid alone and optimize chances with clomid and iui.
