Feedings ?!

anyone formula feeding? my LO is 1 month and is always hungry i feed her 3-4 oz now every 3-4 hours but now before the 4 hours is up she’s waking up showin me of a that she’s still hungry? any advice dr said 4 oz is too much but she eats it all with out showing me signs of discomfort or anything she burps fine no throwing up i don’t think 3-4 oz is to much Maybe she’s not being satisfied any suggestions.

Not sure what the conversion would be but my three week old bub is having around 120mls formula every 2-3 hours or a total of 880mls per day. She’s drinking well above what she should and is absolutely fine. Just a growing girl with a big appetite. My MCH nurses are not concerned and have just encouraged us to feed on demand. You can’t overfeed a baby and need to trust Mother Nature and your bubs capacity to tell you when they’ve had enough. Better than a hungry, crying baby!

If she isn't spitting up and is waking up to eat before 4 hours, feed her. Follow her hunger cues. Babies can't read the oz marks on a bottle, they can't tell time. All they know is "I'm hungry and I want to eat now" and "Okay now I'm full and ready to sleep again". Follow her cues and everything will be just fine.

My baby is 4 weeks old and my health visitor said she would be expecting her to be drinking between 3/4oz by now. My daughter has 4oz every 2/3 hours day and night.

Same thing with my son he doesn’t seem to get full of just my breastmilk so i have to incorporate some formula as well. I was also told not to over feed but he’s hungry and i don’t want to not feed him if he’s hungry.  I would just listen to your baby if baby is still hungry feed him or her.

I read 2.5 ounces x body weight equals the total amount suggested for a day. Also our pediatrician said 8 wet/soiled diapers per day indicates they are getting enough. Hope that helps.

How much total for the day?  Is this something new in the last few days?  If it is new, it might be a growth spurt.
