37 weeks and travel 5hrs away to Dallas?

My husband is in the firefighter games for soccer and it is July 15, 16, 17th in Dallas (we are from Houston) It would be a five hour drive with our two dogs each way and we would stay there for three days and two nights. I would be 37 almost 38 weeks. Should I go or stay at home?

Stay home lol my husband is going to Tyler when I’m 36 weeks and I’m mildly worried this little one will come early. Where are you delivering?

I asked my doctor about going to a wedding the week before my csecetion. So I would be almost 39 weeks. She said as long as I’m not having contractions I would be fine. Also to make sure I drink lots of water and stop to get out and move every 1-1.5 hours. The trip is only 3 hours one way. She also said it’s not like I’m gonna be in Antarctica so there would be hospitals close. So I guess as long as you’re good with the possibility of going into labor and delivering away from your home/doctor, it would be ok. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My dr said at that point if you do go out of town and you happen to have your baby it’s not as big of a deal since you wouldn’t have to spend any time in the nicu. I just personally would be a little stressed out.

My doctor told me my cut off travel time was 32 weeks. I wanted to go which was a 3 hour and she said absolutely not. I would call and ask your doctors.

I have a business thing I have to go to at 37 weeks it’s about 3.5-5 hours away as well (depending on traffic) my doctor is giving my all my paperwork to take with me just in case but said it was totally fine. Just be flexible with how you’re feeling and remember if you’re feeling up to it and your doctor says go for it then go! Worse case scenario you give birth at a hospital there, but your husband is with you. 
If you don’t feel up to it at the time don’t feel bad for canceling!
