Feeling Unsure

I recently told my Mom about this relationship that’s been going on in my life. He’s from America and I’m from Canada. It’s been tricky, but we’ve been going strong for 9 months. My Mom was very disapproving and disappointed I feel. She didn’t seem like she wanted to support the idea. At this point I’m feeling very confused today. I feel like I’ll be cast out and it makes me so sad. I really love him, but I feel like I just went 20 steps backward and don’t know how this relationship will survive if my parents are not supportive.

I would really like to hear if anyone has been through something similar or just any advice.
