Painful and least painful?

Where are the least and most painful places to get a tattoo?

tattoos and piercings all involve needles or some form of sharp object scarring or penetrating your skin in some way. they're all essentially a controlled bodily injury and controlled scar. they're all going to hurt. I once went to a tattoo studio and the owner symply printed a piece of paper and hung it over the chair. it said  "stop asking which areas hurt more to get pierced/tattooed. anywhere I put needles in you is going to hurt. you pay me to hurt you. if you are not ok with that, keep your money and leave" he was sick of the sort of girls that want the cliche butterfly tattoos coming in and trying to figure out which areas of their bodies would hurt the least to get tattoos because they wanted empty meaningless body art without the pain. he offered to give one of them some stickers instead and she threw a fit. the problem with asking which areas hurt more or less to have pierced or tattooed is that even though there may be thicker skin in some spots or thinner skin and more bony surface in another, that won't make a difference for everyone because everyone's pain threshold is different. for some people, they don't feel pain as intensely as others or they're way more sensitive in some areas of their body when others feel next to nothing there. a tattooist can't really look at you specifically and tell you "tattoos here will hurt more and tattoos there will hurt less" because they don't know your body. your body and your personal pain threshold are different than. anyone elses they've ever met. furthermore, if the brief amount of pain you would have to sit through for a tattoo is so upsetting to you that you're trying to avoid it by hacking the placement of it, you obviously don't want the tattoo as badly as you say you do. people that want tattoos know that tattoos hurt and they accept that they have to sit through it if they want it finished. it's a choice. choose pain and tattoos or no pain and no tattoos. pretty simple.

Most painful was right on the back of my ankle and my fingers 
Least painful—- face.

My most painful was my back and ankle. 
Least painful was my upper arm, forearm, back of shoulder, and hip/thigh area. Those all went numb for me.

I got a tattoo on my ribs and it didn’t hurt bad but the tattoo on my inner upper arm damn near killed me

Everyone is different , I would prob say anything with bone under it would hurt ? Altho my hip tattoo was maybe a 4/10 pain wise . Felt like somthing sharp was dragging along my skin & felt like a sun burn after lol .. && as far as least painful . Maybe like fatty areas ??
