How many of you were step moms before having your own child?

How or did your feelings change after you had your own baby?

My step daughter does not call me mom because she has her own. It is a different feeling because this is my child and I will be its mother. I do love my step daughter but it is different.

My step-daughter has called me mom since her dad and I got married 5 years ago. We have a 3 year old daughter together and are expecting another baby in Jan 2016. My feelings towards my step-daughter definitely changed after my daughter was born. I'm very protective of her. It's amazing to see the bond between the sisters, even though they're 9 years apart. They look a lot alike, you'd never know they have different mom's!

I have a step son but the mother doesn't like me so I have absolutely no relationship with him unfortunately. me and my hubby our expecting our first in January and I'm hoping our kids will have some kind of relationship since they will be siblings.
