Bad period

This is my 4th cycle since I stopped breastfeeding and my periods are almost unbearable. Has anyone had to go through a natural MC? Because this is exactly what my period pains have been feeling like every cycle. Not cramping, but very sharp pains followed by ALOT of blood. I change tampons/pads every hour or so and can’t keep up with it. Is this normal?!
